Chaandni Raatien !!!

Poonam ki raat ka poora chaand dekhoon,
To tumhara haseen chehra nazar aata hai,
Har crater main tumhara dimple nazar aata hai !
Phir telescope se jab dekhta hoon dhyaan se,
To crater ke saath mountain bhi nazar aata hai
Aur har mountain main tumhara pimple nazar aata hai !!!

Aadhi raat ka aadha chaand dekhoon,
To tumhari muskaan ki yaad satati hai,
Chandni tumhare chamakte daaton ki yaad dilati hai !
Phir telescope se jab dekhta hoon dhyaan se,
To chand pe lage daag par nazar jaati hai,
Aur is daag se tumhare daaton ki cavities ki yaad aati hai !!!

Amavas ki andheri raat jab aati hai,
Us raat bhi kahan chain se so pata hoon,
Lagta hai tumhari zulfon ke saaye main kho jaata hoon !
Phir telescope se jab dekhta hoon dhyaan se,
To gardish main sitaare chamakte hain is tarah,
Tumhari zulfon main jhoonen bhatakti hain jis tarah !!!

Isliye kal raat maine ye faisla kiya bade dhyaan se
Ab to chhodna padega isse, imaan se,
Lauta doonga laya tha jis dukaan se;
Vo telescope jo door ki cheez to paas dikhaye
Par door kar de apni hi jaan se !!!

Masti ki Paathshaala

Bhimashankar, known as a Pilgrim's Paradise, is 128 kms from Pune (via Manchar). It has a beautiful temple of Lord Shiva which is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas in India.

Brief History: Lord Shankara after getting angry, killed Rakshas Tripurasura. The heat generated from their war caused the origin of river Bhima. Hence the name - Bhimashankar.

Geography: Various places that could be visited in Bhimashankar are Hanuman Lake, Gupt Bhimashankar, Origin of River Bhima, Nag Phani, Bombay Point, Sakshi Vinayak and lot more. Bhimashankar is a conserve red forest area and has a wildlife sanctuary that is a habitat for rare species of flora and fauna.

Autobiography:
On 18th of June 2006, when the clock struck half past seven, eight of us set foot towards a journey that will be etched in our memories for a lifetime ...

Actually, not exactly foot, it was a car (driven by Sarvana) and two bikes ( driven by Saurabh and Satya).

So let us begin the Masti ki Paathshaala...

Economics: The supply of water is directly proportional to the demand.

Mechanics: Stress testing of the dam by 3.5 Heavyweights & 2.5 featherweights!
(Point Five Someone :)
Clockwise: Prajakta, Yaminee, Satyajit, Sachin, Saurabh, Vivek.

Physics: The falling water following the Law of Gravitation

Geometry: Find the obtuse angle between the left foot of the boy and the base (dam)

Geology: This place rocks(pun intended:)

Sociology: On the rocks!

Zoology: 6 legends of 8 Laxmi Palace, Pune.
(From left: Vivek, Satyajit, Sachin, Saurabh, Sarvana[standing], Mohit.)

Botany: Grass is always greener on this side!

Biology: Beetle on barren land.

All of a sudden, the Cumulonimbus clouds appeared and the Sun God painted them in a gorgeous golden hue...

Cosmology: The calm before the storm
(My favourite pic of all time)

Survival of the fittest, the fastest and the fattest :)

The last pic is a reminder of our victory in the battle against the Thunderstorms (especially by the bikers - Satya & Saurabh) and also Sarvana (driving his sister's car and lending his Unicorn bike to Saurabh!), and Prajakta(pillion rider) and Yaminee(partial pillion rider) and obviously Mohit, Sachin and me - for moral support :)

The credit for all the pics above goes to the owners of camera phones - Sarvana (SE k750i), Saurabh (SE k750i) and Sachin (Nokia 3230)
Also, I would like to thank Satya for writing a brilliant description of the trip which was the inspiration behind this article.

Ironically, there is not a single pic of the temple which this place is famous for. As they say, the journey teaches you more than the destination. (Refer the comments for the subjects learnt :) But for the sake of those who need to have a look at the temple and other details, you can visit :

A Trip to Mahabaleshwar & Panchgani

Mahabaleshwar is Sanskrit for "God of Great Power" - Maha (great), Bal (power) and Ishwar (God). There are 30 valley viewpoints with panoramic vistas scattered around the hill station and their access roads make for shady, pleasant walks and treks. (Read more...)

Panchgani is derived from the fact that it is located at the centre of five hills ("Panch" = five, "Gani" = hills). It is tucked away in Satara district, just 19 kms east of Mahabaleshwar. The place is well known for trekking and other adventure activities. It is also famous for its boarding schools, its Parsee Bungalows, the fresh air and tasty strawberries (Read more...)

Pune is the nearest airport both for Mahabaleshwar (120 km and Panchgani (98 km).

A few weeks back, we (me and my roomies) went on an excursion to these hill stations.

We saw a few landmarks like:
Lodwick Point
Bombay Point
Other Points
Table Land

PJ of the day - AK 47

My first original PJ. Hope you hate it....

Once upon a time , not very long ago, in the town of Goli, lived a gangster named Appu Kangi. People had nicknamed him AK-47. The reason was simple - He was desperately obsessed with guns. And his possession of 47 guns proved it.He always used to buy guns and more guns and if there was some money left, he would buy some more guns!

Finally, one day he decided to get married.
He saw many, and finally selected the best one ... I mean ... the best GUN !!!
Yes, a gun .... and on a suspicious , i mean , auspicious occassion , got married to it !!!
The moment he got married, all of a sudden, he stopped his evil deeds and the localites who were against him earlier, now started praising him and worshipping him.
People from nearby areas too started worshipping him and finally one day they built a temple on his name.
Why ???

Killer Kaun?

Some people do things just to "Kill Time"...
What they don't realise is that ultimately Time will do the same to them ;

and it will emerge as the ultimate Winner!

Love is in the Air ???

14th Feb .... It's that time of the year again when "Love is in the Air"...

This makes me wonder ... where is it for the rest of the year???
What do u think ? Where is it on other days? To make u start thinking, I would say ...

... maybe "Love is in the Water" ... or one of the other elements for that matter...

( Gyan for the day: According to ancient Indian philosophy, everything in this universe is composed of five elements : Prithvi or earth, Apa or water, Tejas or fire, Vayu or air, Akash or space).

Love cannot be on Prithvi ... cos missiles can never share love , they can only spread hatred!
(Vigyan for the day: The Prithvi is among the most modern short-ranged battlefield missiles in the world. Reference: http://www.bharat-rakshak.com/MISSILES/Prithvi.html)

I would rule out Tejas, cos I know him well and I am sure Love can be anywhere except there...

Love cannot be in Water ... Deepa Mehta knows better ... (
http://www.brightlightsfilm.com/28/water.html )

Akash, well Akash can be in Love , but can Love be in Akash? This would be a cross reference leading to a deadlock!

In fact, Akash loves himself !!! Remember Dil Chahta hai ?

Quality Toons

Prologue:

A few days back, we had a Quality related banner competition in our company. The theme was to highlight a few of the Quality related buzz words. I made a cartoon series which connected all these terms .

Needless to say, I never got selected for the top slots. Nevertheless, thought of sharing it with you all.

(Note that the images were taken from different web sites ( thanks to Google), and then modified based on my needs. In case any of these infringes the copyrights , please ignore it , or let me know ... and I will ignore it !)

The storyboard goes thus:
There is a mid-air accident due to which a plane is about to crash. Note the reaction of the crew and passengers and finally ....

read on ....

1. Defect Prevention:

QA took care of the bugs in the software, but this is a typical case of "bird in the hardware"!!!

2. Client value Addition:

This plane is about to crash. To assist our left ones serve your loved ones better, please fill up the feedback form and drop it in the black box!
Thank you,
The Pilot.

3. Productivity Improvement:

Please do not disturb, my project deadline is more important than mine.

4. Risk management:

Now you know why I always keep a backup, son.

And thus they lived happily ever after ... thanks to the Quality processes followed!

A Zero

I created this blog a year ago but never got started. But I had to start some day... I needed a reason ... and what better than a New Year Resolution ( 800 X 600 or maybe 1024 X 768 ???).
Yes, it has begun...
You are in an "Inverse Matrix"...
And here, everyone is "A ZERO" ( Inverse of "THE ONE" !!! ).
Now that you have entered it .... there is no "ESC" ... nor will "F1" be of any help ...
On a serious note, since I personally don't like reading (and writing) long stories ... I will try to include short stories or one liners (original quotes or PJs).
Make sure you give your Invaluable comments to "moti"vate me ... or Unvaluable comments to "patli"vate me (if u dislike it)!
For a comparatively sane site ( having my original poems) , you can visit :

(Read as Kavi + Vivek )

P.S.
Copying any of the contents of this blog WITH prior permission of the blogger is totally illegal ... so do so without anyone knowing it ... however, just make sure you visit a psychiatrist if u do so !!!
